What We Collect
When you use our free Where You Stand financial diagnostic or sign up for our email list, we collect your email address and, depending on the tool, the debt information you enter (amounts, creditor names, US state, lawsuit status). When you purchase a product, we also collect the information required to process your payment through Stripe (which handles all payment data -- we never see or store your card details). For physical book orders, we collect your shipping name, address, and phone number for order fulfillment. We do not sell this information.
How We Use It
We use your information to deliver the resource or product you requested, send purchase confirmations and access links, and follow up with relevant content about The Debt Code. Diagnostic data you enter is used only to generate your personalized report and, in aggregate, to improve our content. We do not sell or share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate this site:
- Stripe -- payment processing. Stripe receives your payment information and their privacy policy governs its handling.
- Beehiiv -- email marketing and lead segmentation. Receives your email address and, where you use the free diagnostic, your diagnostic results for routing automated email sequences.
- Klaviyo -- email marketing for book buyers. Receives your email address and purchase information for follow-up sequences.
- Resend -- transactional email delivery (purchase confirmations, access links).
- Cloudflare -- website hosting, serverless functions, and database (D1). All site traffic passes through Cloudflare's infrastructure; your data is stored in Cloudflare D1.
- Meta (Facebook) -- advertising attribution via the Meta Conversions API. When you make a purchase or sign up, we send a hashed version of your email address, your IP address, and browser identifiers to Meta to measure ad performance. Raw email is never sent -- only a one-way SHA-256 hash.
- Lulu Direct -- print-on-demand fulfillment for physical book orders. Receives your shipping name, address, and phone number to produce and ship your order.
Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send. Transactional emails (purchase confirmations, download links) are necessary to fulfill your order and cannot be opted out of.
